SMS Staffing is Hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician!!
Location: Lindenhurst, IL
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Pay: Based on experience
Experience: 1–2 years required
 

Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to support daily apartment maintenance, unit repairs, and turnovers. Candidates should have experience with general repairs, basic plumbing, and light electrical work.

Responsibilities for the Apartment Maintenance Technician:

  • Complete work orders promptly

  • Perform general maintenance and unit turnover tasks

  • Follow directions from Property Management

  • Maintain reliable attendance and communication

Typical Tasks for the Apartment Maintenance Technician:

  • Appliance installation and removal (refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves)

  • Carpet and tile work

  • Toilet installation/reset

  • Caulking windows

  • Moving ladders and materials

Special Duties

  • Snow removal: on-site during snow events

  • Lockouts: on-call every other week; respond within 1 hour

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of maintenance or repair experience

  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge

  • Ability to lift and install materials/appliances

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset

  • Must pass pre-employment screening
