Position Summary
The Chemical Operator is responsible for safely operating equipment used to blend, transfer, and package chemical products within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate processing of materials, maintains production documentation, and supports efficient and safe plant operations.
Key Chemical Operator Responsibilities
- Operate pumps, tanks, and processing equipment to transfer, blend, and package chemical products.
- Measure and mix chemical batches according to established formulas and production specifications.
- Fill drums, totes, and containers and prepare products for storage or shipment.
- Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure quality and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records, batch logs, and inventory documentation.
- Operate forklifts or material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods as needed.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, lift up to 50 lbs. and climb as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read and write English
- Have basic math capabilities
- Comfortable working around chemicals
- Able to wear safety equipment (i.e.: respirator, gloves, acid suit, googles and steel-toed work boots)
- May be required to work outdoors
- Flexible with overtime
