SMS Staffing Is Hiring Immediately For Scale Admin / Operator!

JOB TITLE: Scale Admin / Operator
JOB LOCATION: Near Gurnee, IL
JOB TYPE: Temp to Hire
PAY: $18.00-$25.00/hr. (depending on experience)
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday)

About the Role:
● Serve as the first point of contact for all on-site customers
● Accurately input material details and weights into the computerized scale system
● Monitor the entry and exit of loads into the facility
● Document load grades and conduct payment calculations
● Issue payments to customers
● Generate daily reports and maintain accurate records
● Execute general administrative tasks including filing, closing register, and other duties as assigned
● Communicate with operators via radio regarding material movement
● Maintain a clean and organized office
● Follow all safety policies and procedures

Qualification Requirements for Scale Admin / Operator:
● Bilingual – Must speak Spanish and English
● High School Diploma or GED
● 3+ years of office or administrative experience
● Strong customer service skills
● Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
● Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word preferred)
● Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
● Attention to detail and accountability required

Special Circumstances of the Scale Admin / Operator:
● Must be able to work under pressure
● Frequent lifting or movement of objects up to 10 pounds
● Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
● Must maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
● Collaborative team environment
