JOB LOCATION: Gurnee, IL
JOB TYPE: Temp to Hire
PAY: $18.00-$25.00/hr. (depending on experience)
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
Job Summary
The Scale Operations Coordinator oversees daily truck scale operations and provides administrative support to ensure accurate tracking of materials entering and leaving the recycling facility. This role weighs trucks, records transaction data, processes payments, and maintains organized documentation to support efficient facility operations.
About the Scale Operations Coordinator Role:
- Operate the truck scale to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles.
- Record load weights, material types, and driver information in the scale system.
- Issue weight tickets, receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Handle cash and payment transactions and reconcile daily receipts.
- Perform administrative tasks including data entry, filing, reporting, and maintaining operational logs.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and yard staff to coordinate incoming and outgoing loads.
- Ensure accuracy of documentation and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications for Scale Coordinator:
- Bilingual – Must speak Spanish and English
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3+ years of office or administrative experience
- Strong customer service, administration, and organizational skills
- Experience with data entry, recordkeeping, and basic office tasks
- Ability to handle cash and maintain accurate financial records.
- Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word preferred)
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
- Attention to detail and accountability are required
Special Circumstances of the Scale Operator:
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Frequent lifting or movement of objects up to 10 pounds
- Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Collaborative team environment
